Famous Balloon Thief Tattoo

I'm pretty sure that I've mentioned this, but An American Werewolf in London has been my favorite film since I was but a child. I was the type of child that was obsessed with things like werewolves, the occult, and drawing disturbing things. When I first saw this movie I thought that it was entirely hilarious and the only cinematic one and a half hours to truly capture my inner being. Even though my mom used to come in an fast-forward the sex scene (making it even more graphic, somehow) it was still, in a word, beautiful.

I've been wanting to get a tattoo as a tribute to this movie for quite some time but initially I could not decide on the imagery. I've seen many amazing tattoos of the werewolf or of David half-transformed, but I guess I was looking for something a little more obscure than that. Then a year or two back I stumbled across the Japanese poster for the film and fell in love. [link] It just makes me so incredibly happy every time I look at it. I modified the illustration of David stealing the balloons up in the top right corner a bit to come up with the image for my tattoo. I chose Dirk Hays at East Atlanta tattoo for the artist because he has some really incredible color work.
